It is the third long ride that I took with over 75 kilometers. The target was a route instead of a place. The route starts from home to Kiliyanur via bypass road through the Tiruchitrambalam junction, then reaching ECR via Odiampattu route, finally returning to Pondicherry through the ECR where the beautiful beach views and slight head-winds were experienced.

The ride was started by around 12:00 PM and returned home by around 3:45 PM. On the way to Kiliyanur, I had a eager mind to change the planned route to reach Tindivanam which is about 40 Km away from where I was at that time. But, the return time will be huge. So, I reserved that route for a morning ride and proceeded with the planned route.

After reaching Kiliyanur, I traveled the same bypass road until Odiampattu connecting road and proceeded in the Odiampattu road. I don’t know if it is the music that I was listening to or the ambience of the area, I felt like I was travelling for a very long time while covering some 10 Kms only. But, when I checked my tracking application (Strava), I was covering the distance in my usual average speed only, which is around 20 Kmph.

On the Odiampattu connecting road, I saw a small child riding a cycle with training wheels attached. I gave a thumbs up sign to him and he did the same, I felt a small joy of inducing this cycling hobby to the child.

After crossing the connecting road, I finally reached ECR where I refilled my water bottle in a fuel station and continued my ride. On the way, I saw some good sea shore sceneries and thought of take a side track for just sight seeing. I stopped by the Auroville beach where I enjoyed the sea waves touching my feet, and some good views. I might have spent some 5 minutes only, then I left to continue the ride.

I reached Puducherry entrance arch, took a snapshot of it and entered back in to Puducherry territory. I continued the ride into the city in search of a book store I had in my mind and it was around 2:30 PM. I found the shop but It was closed and will be opened only by 3:30 PM. I cannot spend 1 hour just for that, by which I would have covered another 20 Kms. So, I left the city and continued the path to home.

One thing I noticed in this ride is that, It is shorted than the previous silver beach ride by around 1 Km. But I felt my leg pain a bit more than that ride. That is because, I took some more times during the rest stops which can be found in the Strava record. But, this time, I spent very less time like around a minute or two and the number of rest stops is also less, like around 3. It cannot be called as rest stop as I was just checking the route during that 1-2 minutes only. So, I should spend some considerable amount of rest time during my future rides.

Below are the images and videos that I took during my ride.
