This book will remain as one of the best books I ever read forever! The author, Fredrik Backman, has excellently sculpted the phrases that made me to enjoy the book. It brought out all the emotions in me.
The book story is about the happenings around an old man named Ove who make several attempts, an orderly attempts, in commiting sucide. Because, he wants to join with his wife Sonja, who passed away a few years ago, as per the books timeline.
Each attempt that he makes will get spoiled in several funny ways by his new neighbors. Ove is an old foggy. He is good at fixing things with his tools and bare hands, as like others in his time period did. His most fascinating thing is a car. He judges people based on what car they buy and how they maintain or use it.
The wordings from the author are chanceless! They way he brought the reader to know that Ove’s wife Sonja is actually died long time ago was amazing. I don’t have words to describe such writing.
This is an excellent book for gifting people, who are new to reading. Because, if they are good readers, then there is a chance that they might already have enjoyed this book. It is a very famous one.
The story starts with Ove, his daily inspection routines around the residential area, how he came to be as he was, what are the failure self ending attempts made, how those attempts became a failure, what are his preparations before dying, about his life friend Rune and his wife Anitha, how he got another true family after Sonja, and how his life was ended. Its an amazing book.
The story was moving as a movie in my mind while reading it. I am stubborn not to watch a movie based on this book, if it exists, as it will definitely spoil the experience I had with the book.
